DescriptionThe Assembly Operator utilizes a variety of hand and power tools to perform routine assembly of basic components in accordance with quality and quantity standards completes the cycle counting process and analyzes discrepancies to determine problem causes.
In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Follows procedures for assembling products handling products equipment and materials per the production department and companys quality system procedures.
- Reviews shop operations packets Bills-of-Materials and engineering drawings to ensure that incoming materials to be assembled are correct as to specified quantity/quality/part number.
- Based on production specifications and/or Team Leaders instructions selects parts tools and equipment required for quality mechanical assembly production.
- Inspects and dimensionally checks production to ensure assembled output meets requirements.
- Utilizes properly calibrated precision measuring instruments when performing inspections. Informs the Team Leader of any operating material or parts condition that would interfere with production quality or quantity.
- Performs routine operator maintenance and operational checks on all tools and equipment utilized.
- Segregates and periodically disposes of scrap and recycled material into approved collection containers.
- Operates appropriate equipment required to move materials into around or out of the department.
- Maintains an accurate record of all work performed in the appropriate company format.
- Follows all 5S practices and supports lean activities as well as safety regulations policies and procedures.
