Job Title: Patient Service Technician (Phlebotomist)
Location: Hyannis MA 02601 Contract Duration:31 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Schedule: 40 hours/week (8-hour shifts)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Patient Service Technician (Phlebotomist) to support laboratory operations in a multi-site healthcare environment. This role is responsible for accurate specimen collection processing and data entry while delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality customer service to patients healthcare providers and staff
Perform blood collection procedures including venipuncture finger sticks and heel sticks
Collect throat swabs and instruct patients on proper at-home specimen collection (e.g. stool 24-hour urine)
Process specimens including centrifugation separation and proper storage/transport conditions
Accurately enter patient demographics and physician orders into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and medical necessity requirements
Communicate effectively with providers regarding specimen quality and test results
Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and escalate when appropriate
Perform mobile and stat collections at patient homes nursing facilities and physician offices
Participate in on-call rotation as needed
Maintain inventory and ensure adequate supply levels
Ensure cleanliness safety and organization of work areas
Open and close laboratory collection sites as assigned
Collaborate across multiple laboratory locations as required
Required Qualifications
Proficiency in venipuncture and specimen collection techniques
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Flexibility to work across multiple locations
Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and compliance standards
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent Required
Completion of a phlebotomy training program or equivalent work experience Required
Certifications & Licensure
Valid U.S. Drivers License Required
Acceptable driving record Required
Completion of Driver Safety Training Program Required
