Location: Hyannis MA 02601
Contract Duration:31 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 40 hours/week (8-hour shifts)

Position Overview

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Patient Service Technician (Phlebotomist) to support laboratory operations in a multi-site healthcare environment. This role is responsible for accurate specimen collection processing and data entry while delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality customer service to patients healthcare providers and staff
  • Perform blood collection procedures including venipuncture finger sticks and heel sticks
  • Collect throat swabs and instruct patients on proper at-home specimen collection (e.g. stool 24-hour urine)
  • Process specimens including centrifugation separation and proper storage/transport conditions
  • Accurately enter patient demographics and physician orders into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and medical necessity requirements
  • Communicate effectively with providers regarding specimen quality and test results
  • Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and escalate when appropriate
  • Perform mobile and stat collections at patient homes nursing facilities and physician offices
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed
  • Maintain inventory and ensure adequate supply levels
  • Ensure cleanliness safety and organization of work areas
  • Open and close laboratory collection sites as assigned
  • Collaborate across multiple laboratory locations as required

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in venipuncture and specimen collection techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Flexibility to work across multiple locations
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and compliance standards

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program or equivalent work experience Required

Certifications & Licensure

  • Valid U.S. Drivers License Required
  • Acceptable driving record Required
  • Completion of Driver Safety Training Program Required
  • Medical Terminology competency Required
  • Phlebotomy Certification Preferred
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) Preferred
