About the opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Asphalt Raker to join our asphalt paving crew in patching and repairing City Streets. The work involves preparing sites for paving including ensuring compaction and setting grade. You will use motorized equipment and hand tools to safely and efficiently pave large asphalt patches to the desired quality thickness and grade. You will also oversee the work of other employees. This is a physically demanding position that works outdoors in all weather conditions.

About your background:

Along with a commitment to safety you have Grade 12 three (3) years of experience in fundamental asphalt practices and a valid Class 3 drivers license. A Class 1 drivers license is preferred. Strong knowledge of the methods materials tools and equipment used in paving and patching as it relates to maintenance and construction work and experience operating a skid steer with attachments are also required. Considerable independence a safe work record strong customer service orientation and collaborative teamwork skills will contribute to your success in this important role. Less than qualified applicants may be considered without their Class 3 drivers license provided they obtain it within one year of their hire date.
