Applied AI Senior Software Engineer, AI Core Dev

About the Team

The AI Engineering team builds AI capabilities across Nasdaqs products and internal platforms. We develop and deploy AI-powered solutionsincluding LLM-based chat document processing report generation and code generationthat support both our clients and employees while accelerating research and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design build and operate AI agents that perform real production work with a strong focus on quality observability and reliability
• Develop and maintain large-scale model execution frameworks supporting batch API and real-time use cases
• Partner closely with data scientists to codify reusable data operations that accelerate research and development productivity
• Build cloud-native systems for continuous model training and deployment across AWS and Azure environments
• Communicate technical progress and outcomes clearly to cross-functional collaborators across the business

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of professional software engineering experience in complex production environments
• Strong programming skills in Python and Java; experience with TypeScript is a plus
• Proven ability to design develop test and operate scalable distributed systems
• Clear communicator with experience working in collaborative cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-native architectures and infrastructure (AWS and/or Azure)
• Familiarity with low-latency or memory-intensive applications
• Experience using Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools

This position will be located in Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (at least 3 days a week in office subject to change) providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
