We are seeking a Senior Engineering Technician(Cyber Security)to act as a technical leadfor cyber security across theOperational Technology (OT)environment ensuring the protection and resilience of critical infrastructure. This positioncombineshands-on networkmonitoring and incident responsewith strategic security enhancements.Youllbring deepexpertisein Industrial Control System (ICS) SCADAnetworkingand security along with strong experience configuring switches routers and firewalls (including EIGRP and BGProuting). Partnering with IT Security and key stakeholdersyoulldrive the design evolution and modernization of Metropolitans SCADA communications infrastructure.

WhatYoullDo

  • Monitor and defendthe SCADAenvironmentsbyidentifyingthreats investigatingalertsand leadingtimelyincident responses.

  • Enhance the overall securityarchitectureand controlsthroughfirewalladministration security validation andimplementation ofOT Cybersecuritybest practices.

  • Communicate and collaborate with the team to resolve security issues enhance security management and implementingthesecurityplaybook.

  • Contributetoand developthesecurity playbook and documentation to strengthen compliance responsereadinessand operational consistency across the team.

  • Proactivelyidentifyvulnerabilities by testing existing and new toolsevaluating vendorscorrelatingeventsand driving continuous security improvements through the security plan.

  • Partnerwith IT Security and consultants to perform security audits and investigationsidentifyresolveand document security weaknesses.

  • Develop andmaintaintechnical standards documentation and procedures while mentoring junior staff and promoting operational excellence in OT Cybersecurity.

Schedule:44/36.Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no later than 6 pm.

Hybrid:Metropolitans current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational addition a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate (HSEC) and two years of accredited collegeoruniversity in engineering.

ANDeight years of relevant experience two years of which must have been at theEngineering Technician III level.

Relevant/RelatedExperience is defined as:Work experience in a combination of configuring network equipment and cybersecure environments.

CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this position maybe requiredto obtain andmaintainthe following certificationslicensingand registrations:

License(s):Valid California Class C Drivers License or equivalent that allows you to drive during your employment isrequiredat time of application.
