Description

A Day in the Life as a Lead Nurse:
The Lead Nurse oversees a team of healthcare professionals providing leadership in treatment planning and ensuring the physical well-being of children and adolescents receiving residential care for behavioral health needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising nursing staff and coordinating care
  • Ensuring completion of health assessments
  • Managing medication orders and administration
  • Educating children and families about care and treatment
  • Coordinating medical and psychiatric appointments
  • Maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with federal state and program requirements

  • Ability to apply a trauma-informed approach when working with clients families and team members
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills

Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas
  • Prior supervision experience preferred
  • Minimum age of 21 and at least 3 years older than the oldest resident
  • Valid drivers license and current auto insurance
  • Ability to meet requirements for transporting clients
  • Eligibility for Medicaid credentialing
  • This is an in-office role
  • Schedule is flexible and determined based on the needs of a 24/7 residential facility
