Description
A Day in the Life as a Lead Nurse:
The Lead Nurse oversees a team of healthcare professionals providing leadership in treatment planning and ensuring the physical well-being of children and adolescents receiving residential care for behavioral health needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervising nursing staff and coordinating care
- Ensuring completion of health assessments
- Managing medication orders and administration
- Educating children and families about care and treatment
- Coordinating medical and psychiatric appointments
- Maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with federal state and program requirements

- Compassionate and motivated individual committed to helping youth and families
- Interest in continuous learning and professional growth
- Ability to apply a trauma-informed approach when working with clients families and team members
- Strong collaboration and leadership skills
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas
- Prior supervision experience preferred
- Minimum age of 21 and at least 3 years older than the oldest resident
- Valid drivers license and current auto insurance
- Ability to meet requirements for transporting clients
- Eligibility for Medicaid credentialing
- This is an in-office role
- Schedule is flexible and determined based on the needs of a 24/7 residential facility
