Principal Electrical Engineer Analog/Digital

A leading aerospace and defense technology organization is seeking a highly experienced Principal Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in analog and digital hardware design for harsh-environment mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead full product lifecycle engineering from concept requirements architecture design validation qualification production and sustainment
Design and develop advanced analog and digital circuitry for aerospace defense and ruggedized applications
Perform simulation verification and technical analysis for electrical performance EMI thermal reliability and compliance
Optimize design trade-offs across performance cost manufacturability and program schedules
Develop technical documentation specifications and present at design and technical reviews
Support manufacturing supplier collaboration troubleshooting and product sustainment
Mentor engineering teams and contribute to proposals cost estimates and technical hiring
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (Masters preferred)
15 years of hands-on experience in analog and digital circuit design
Strong expertise in:
- A/D conversion
- Processors / microcontrollers
- Power electronics (MOSFET IGBT SiC GaN)
- DC/DC converters
- High-voltage / high-power PCB layout
- Motor control systems
- EMI/EMC compliant designs
Experience with MIL-STD-1275 MIL-STD-704 DO-160 MIL-STD-461
Strong background in: - FMEA
- Worst-case analysis
- Radiation effects (SEU TID)
- Thermal and stress analysis
Knowledge of communication protocols: - CAN
- SPI
- RS-232/422/485
- JTAG
- PCI/PCIe
- Ethernet (1G/10G)
Experience with CAD/simulation tools: - LT-Spice
- P-Spice
- OrCAD
- Allegro
- MATLAB/Simulink
Preferred Experience:
Aerospace defense or mission-critical electronics environments
Sensor interfaces including LVDT resolvers and encoders
Control theory Z-domain analysis Clark/Park transforms
