Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Principal Water & Wastewater Engineer with consulting experience across municipal industrial and First Nations projects. As a leader within our Markham team you will be instrumental in driving the expansion and technical excellence of our water business line in collaboration with Arcadis teams across Canada and the United will bring your experience in water and wastewater operations policy strategy innovation and government relations to this role.
You will provide strategic direction technical leadership and client stewardship for multidisciplinary water wastewater stormwater and utility programs. This role offers the opportunity to shape innovative solutions for complex infrastructure mentor high-performing teams and represent Arcadis as a technical authority in the sector.
Role accountabilities:
In this role you will oversee and direct the successful delivery of complex projects ensuring alignment with client expectations regulatory requirements and Arcadis standards for quality safety and sustainability. You will cultivate and manage key client relationships identify emerging market opportunities and lead proposal development and presentations.
As a technical leader you will serve as technical lead for major design engineering operations and capital projects delivering innovative cost-effective and resilient solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure. You will also develop and implement strategic project execution plans resource allocation strategies and risk management protocols for large-scale and high-profile assignments.
You will coach and mentor junior and intermediate engineers fostering a culture of technical excellence collaboration and continuous improvement. You will represent Arcadis in stakeholder consultations regulatory reviews and industry forums leading permitting strategies and ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
You will champion the adoption of digital sustainable and advanced treatment technologies driving continuous improvement initiatives and best practices in water and wastewater engineering. You will develop and manage project budgets forecasts and financial performance metrics to ensure profitable delivery and optimized resourcing and you will actively participate and present in professional associations and conferences to position Arcadis as a thought leader in the sector.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Civil Electrical Mechanical Chemical Environmental Engineering or similar field; Masters degree preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- 20 years progressive experience in water/wastewater engineering
- Professional Engineer license
- Significant consulting experience on large scale highly complex water wastewater stormwater and resource recovery and wastewater projects
- Experience in collaboration delivery models
- Experience in policy review and development
