Responsible for on-boarding new employees and provide initial on the job training. Scope will include coordinating managing and supporting site training program activities; and providing development resources to all site employees including production managers supervisors staff and hourly employees.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead and empower your training team to ensure consistent quality training across all shifts and departments
- Supervises operator/trainers to ensure daily requirements are met or exceeded
- Coach support and train-the-trainer for internal subject matter experts
- Performs hands-on and classroom training focusing on individual target groups
- Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of the training program
- Support and monitor key performance and quality indicators of training and propose corrective actions as needed
- Gathers feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session
- Participate in designing and developing all training programs
- Communicates with managers to identify training needs and map out development plans for teams and individuals
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Review SOP of each job function for new employees
- Monitor SOP needs for new opportunities
- Evaluates SOPs for accuracy and makes needed edits
- Create any SOPs for tasks that have not yet been created
- Partner with other Training Coordinator to share best practices
- Partner with EHS to update SOPs based on injuries incidents or near misses
New Employee Orientation (NEO)
- Responsible for collecting new employees on Day 3 of NEO
- Introduction to Plant Manager Supervisor Lead and Trainer
- Reviewing NEO plant checklist
- Monitor new hire on the job training
- Enter new hire training attendance in Paycom/Training Tracker/Shared Drive
- Participate in NEO as presenter/facilitator
- Continually walk the plant and check on new hire progress documenting notes for weekly report andday reviews
- Report daily to Training Supervisor on success and opportunities from the day
Trainers/Training
- Conducts meeting with Trainer to ensure consistent quality training across all shifts
- Supervises Operator/Trainers to ensure daily requirements are met or exceeded
- Coach support and train-the-trainer for internal subject matter experts
- Prepare and present company branded Power Point training presentations
- Performs hands-on and classroom training focusing on individual target groups
- Participate in designing and developing all training programs
- Communicates with managers to identify training needs
- Maps out development plans for teams
- Maps out development plans for individuals
- Monitor Safety Training attendance
- Create and Deliver metrics for training attendance
- Partner with Sups/Mgr on plant training needs
- Partner with Sups/Mgr to select and train backup trainers
- Track and report cross training participation for future certification
- Promote cross training opportunities with Plant Sups/Mgr and new hires
- Executes plant specific forklift training for new operators
- Conducts and tracks 3-year refresher training for forklift operators
- Executes plant specific crane training for new operators
- Support Employee Hearing Test Tracking with EHS staff
- Partner with EHS to review SOPs and make updates based off the walk-through
Reviews
- Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of the training program
- Support and monitor key performance and quality indicators of training and propose corrective actions as needed
- Gathers feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session
- Puts feedback into weekly report for Training Supervisor
- Set goals for 30/60/90 reviews
- Meet with Sups/Managers to collaborate on 30/60/90 day reviews
- Review the weekly gensuite report to track assigned trainer specific ATSs
Training Department
- Participate in weekly training meeting to share ideas innovations and best practices
Requirements
- 1-2 years of Manufacturing experience
- Good planning communication change management and cultural awareness skills
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
- Self-motivated independent worker and team player
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels
- Good delivery skills including teaching and facilitation
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
- Proficient in MS office applications
Physical Requirements
