Maintaining the grounds. Perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and their mechanical electrical and sanitary systems throughout the district.

Perform major mechanical repairs with minimal supervision to ensure proper performance and safety of district vehicles. Perform assigned work following established policies and procedures. Perform daily cleaning and service of buses and vehicles.

Under general supervision maintain repair and install heating and air conditioning systems and equipment throughout the district. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all HVAC systems in district facilities.

Education/Certification

Clear and valid Texas commercial drivers license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsement preferred.

Special Knowledge/Skills

1. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and the ability to read and interpret blueprints diagrams schematics and written reference material such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
2. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally)
3. Ability to operate mowers weed-eaters hand and power tools
4. Ability to work independently
5. Ability to visually inspect and service vehicles
6. Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in servicing vehicles
7. Ability to perform mathematical calculations and the ability to diagnose and resolve problems
8. Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and physical exam
9. Ability to operate a bus or vehicle
10. Knowledge of basic construction routine maintenance and repair procedures
11. Knowledge of automotive mechanics diesel and fuel engine maintenance and repair
12. Knowledge of HVAC repairs maintenance and installation techniques
