The Respiratory Therapy (RT) Clinical Director is responsible for coordinating clinical education with didactic education as assigned by the Program Director. The Clinical Directors responsibilities include coordination instruction and evaluation. The Clinical Director determines student clinical rotation schedules as well as supervising all Clinical faculty members. The Clinical Director bears the primary responsibility for acquiring clinical sites and managing student placement at clinical sites in accordance with clinical affiliation agreements. The Clinical Director also shares graduate job placement responsibilities with the Director of Career Services and as such must regularly coordinate placement efforts with the Career Services department.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills are mandatory
  • Excellent Verbal and Interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to the success of the students and the school

Credentials and Experience:

  • A Bachelors degree in a related subject area from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education required (Associates level program)
  • A Masters degree in a related subject area from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education required (Bachelors level program)
  • Hold a valid RRT credential and current state license must be in good standing
  • Have a minimum of four (4) years experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor
