Oncology Pharmacy Technician

Springfield Hospital Chelmsford

Full Time 37.5 Hours

We have an exciting opportunity for an Oncology Pharmacy Technician to join the team at Springfield this role you will provide specialist pharmacy technician input to Oncology/Haematology inpatients and outpatients managing the efficient day-to-day running of the pharmacy.

Duties include:

  • Taking medication histories

  • Completing medicines reconciliation at admission and discharge

  • Counselling patients or carers on medications providing clear advice and support tools to ensure understanding and adherence

  • Working with the pharmacists be responsible for preparing information for patients about their medicines

  • Carrying out the final accuracy check of dispensed medicines in both the Oncology/Haematology and main dispensaries

  • Supporting the pharmacy homecare team in managing oncology and haematology patients receiving treatment via homecare services

Our hospital is conveniently located on the outskirts of Chelmsford with plenty of free parking onsite. The hospital has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare for patients who are self-funding treatment patients with health insurance or NHS patients exercising choice through the e-referral system.

What youll bring with you

  • Registered as a pharmacy technician with the GPhC

  • NVQ3 / BTEC in Pharmacy Services

  • ACPT qualification

  • You will be familiar with the use of EPMA systems
