Reporting directly to the Aquatic Manager and Supervisors the Aquatic Program Coordinator is a key team member of the Aquatic department at the Kelowna Family Y who:
- Deliver swimming lessons at YMCA SIBC facilities and at an outdoor lake location.
- Plan prepare and adapt lesson plans for participants of varying ages abilities and skill levels including adaptive and inclusive programming.
- Provide daily written communication reports to assist Aquatic Supervisor and Manager.
- Support program coordination by assisting with scheduling participant assessments progress tracking and completion of report cards using the YMCAs SwimGen program.
- Create alternative lesson plans in response to weather conditions participant needs or operational changes ensuring program continuity and safety.
- Respond appropriately to first aid incidents and emergency situations.
- Communicate professionally with participants parents/guardians coworkers and supervisors through verbal and written communication.
- Participate in regular check-ins supervision and mentorship meetings with Aquatic Supervisor and Manager to receive feedback and support with skill development.
- Function as a positive role model by demonstrating YMCA core values (honesty caring inclusiveness responsibility respect).

- YMCA Canada Swim Instructor or Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor
- National Lifeguard - Pool Option
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C
- Lifesaving Instructor (LSI) certification would be an asset.
- Class 5 drivers licence with a clear drivers abstract report.
