Position Description:

  • Candidate will be an employee of the Fiber Plant facilities department. The person shall provide support to all areas of the fiber facility
  • Position is a Flex 40 position typically working Monday-Friday
  • Off hours support may be required in order to keep critical equipment operational
  • Coordinate and facilitate completion of preventative and corrective maintenance activities independently or with the support of the Maintenance department and/or outside contractors
  • Ensure all regulatory checks on facilities and environmental control equipment are being completed and paperwork remains organized
  • Ensure all regulated Waste is properly labeled and organized along with scheduling of the disposal of the waste
  • Identify facility corrective maintenance needs through visual inspection and/or review of data gathered during facilities daily inspection logs
  • Act as a Medical first responder in the Fiber plant
  • Compliant with all requirements in 40 CFR 261-265 concerning hazardous wastes including but not limited to labeling storage and transportation of hazardous wastes from production areas to Waste Storage Pad
  • Work with the technical staff to resolve daily facilities issues
  • Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plants Quality Management Systems
  • Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management

Education:

Required:

  • Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or technology

Experience

Required:

  • Must complete OJT for specific job classification as required in a timely manner
  • Ability to read and understand Electrical schematics to aid in equipment troubleshooting
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting

Preferred:

  • Experience in fiber optic manufacturing
  • Experience with SAP or other CMMS System

  • Ability to analyze data to aid in improving maintenance metrics
