Senior Accountant

Although located at the SEWS Bowling Green Administrative Office this is a Hybrid position which combines both in-office and off-site work. Associates are required to work at least four days in the office each week but also have the flexibility to work off-site.

BASIC PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for maintaining and implementing cost accounting methods and supporting related general ledger activities across products and business units.

BASIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish and maintain standard costs.
• Daily weekly monthly and annual maintenance of cost system.
• Determine validate and explain variance calculations (Purchase Price Variance; Overhead Manufacturing Variance; Manufacturing Variance).
• Monitor inventory movements and provide guidance to plant personnel on inventory control processes and best practices.
• Participate in monthly closing activities.
• Participate in semi-annual physical inventory counts.
• Reconciliation of accounts.
• Provide information for external audit requests.
• Projects and improvement activities as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors Degree required along with 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in cost accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Must understand and be able to implement costing concepts.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
