Position Lead A&P Mechanic (Aircraft Maintenance)
Location: Phoenix AZ
Mercury Aviation is a long-established aviation services provider supporting commercial airlines general aviation and government operations with fuel services logistics and aviation support solutions. This role supports aircraft maintenance operations in a fast-paced and safety-driven environment.
Summary
The Lead A&P Mechanic is responsible for performing aircraft maintenance inspections and repairs while providing guidance and oversight to maintenance personnel. This role ensures all work is completed in compliance with FAA regulations and company standards while supporting team productivity and operational efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance repair and inspection of aircraft and aircraft systems
- Lead and support a team of A&P mechanics to ensure work is completed efficiently and correctly
- Troubleshoot mechanical discrepancies and determine appropriate corrective actions
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance with FAA regulations
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals service bulletins and engineering documents
- Ensure proper documentation of all maintenance activities
- Coordinate with maintenance control and operations to support aircraft availability
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics
- Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
- Other duties as assigned

Summary of Education Experience & Certification
High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum years of aircraft maintenance experience required
- Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance practices
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and technical documentation
- Experience performing inspections repairs and modifications
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
