295-hour part-time lecturer for Master of Medicine
Job Summary
At theDepartment of Clinical ResearchFaculty of Health Sciences University of Southern Denmark a position as part-time lecturer in Global Health Stay in Nepal is available from 1 October 2026.
The position is offered for a period of 3 years with the possibility of extension. The position is allocated at 295 hours.
Responsibilities
As a part-time lecturer for Global Health Stay in Nepal we expect you to:
- Planning coordinating and delivering a two-week field-based Global Health course in Nepal (conducted biannually).
- Serving as the on-site academic lead and course coordinator in Nepal including organizing and facilitating field visits to relevant global and local healthcare institutions.
- Providing academic and practical support to SDU students enrolled in the Global Health Stay in Nepal including guidance related to course activities internships and clinical placements.
- Assessing student performance including participation in examinations for Global Health Stay in Nepal.
- Co-supervising masters theses in Global Health Medicine or Public Health as relevant to the programme.
Qualifications
We expect that you:
- A candidate holding a PhD degree in Global Health or a closely related field will be preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of the Nepalese context including health systems and societal structures combined with familiarity with the Danish higher education system.
- Teaching experience within higher education in Denmark (preferred).
- Preferably fluency in Nepali and English (spoken and written).
- A strong professional and institutional network in Nepal that supports field-based teaching and learning activities.
- High flexibility and adaptability particularly in relation to field-based teaching cross-cultural collaboration and changing local conditions.
- Strong organisational coordination and communication skills in an international and interdisciplinary academic environment.
The working language is English; you must be proficient in both written and spoken language.
About the Centre for Global Health and the Faculty of Health Sciences
In 2023 the majority of SUND moved into a modern faculty building of 50000 m² in Odense where research teaching and administration are gathered under one roof. The building is directly connected to the upcoming Odense University Hospital creating unique opportunities for collaboration across disciplines and functions.
The faculty also has activities on campus in Esbjerg and at the National Institute of Public Health on campus in Copenhagen.

Salary and Terms of Employment
Employment is in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations for academics in the state with the associated circular on the job structure for academic staff at universities and the provisions for part-time Lecturer Teaching Assistant as described therein.
The position is allocated at 295 hours.
Employment is for 3 years with the possibility of extension.
Primary attachment to Campus Odense Campusvej 55 5230 Odense M. The work will be carried out and completed from Nepal in its entirety.
