How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:
The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do:
- Define and prioritize AI improvements aligned to business needs.
- Hands-on development testing and deployment of AI solutions and workflows through structured and achievable work plans to solve complex business challenges.
- Stay across current and emerging AI technologies particularly generative and agentic AI and apply that knowledge to drive change.
- Analyse and integrate with existing API endpoints to deliver AI-powered automation.
- Develop and enhance AI agentic capabilities to augment and automate workflows.
- Build automated pipelines and optimise model performance and system reliability.
- Evaluate and recommend where AI can deliver measurable business value across existing processes.
- Articulate complex AI concepts clearly to stakeholders without technical backgrounds.
- Coordinate with all parts of the business including engineering supply chain and finance to identify potential improvements through AI assistance and learning.
- Produce and maintain clear technical documentation and user guides
- Evaluate training materials to support the adoption and understanding of AI tools across the business.
- Ensure that engineering activities are conducted and documented in accordance with Gilmour Space policies plans and procedures.
- Other duties as requested by Management.
Minimum Qualifications Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in artificial intelligence machine learning software computer science and/or relevant experience.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals including code quality databases APIs/integrations and delivery hygiene.
- Ability to operate in dynamic fast paced environments.
- Demonstrated experience or strong foundational knowledge in AI/ML concepts including generative AI large language models and agentic frameworks.
Desired Qualifications Skills and Experience:
- Understanding of Machine Learning concepts and growing knowledge in Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Understanding of model evaluation prompt design and non-deterministic system behaviour.
- Experience working with cloud-based AI platforms.
- Ability to integrate AI solutions with data platforms pipelines and governance frameworks.
- Interest in the development and maintenance of policies standards and guidelines for AI/ML development practices data governance and responsible AI use across the organisation.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to objectively evaluate AI solutions question outputs and distinguish genuine value from hype.
- Understanding of AI risk bias explainability and safe deployment practices.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Familiarity developing full-stack production quality applications.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and practical outcomes.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills demonstrating the capacity to effectively communicate with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with any of C/C Golang Python JavaScript TypeScript.
- Experience interacting with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Understanding of Systems Engineering practices.
- Interest in developing testing and evaluation strategies for non-deterministic systems including prompt regression testing and output quality benchmarks.
- Experience using git workflows and version control practices.
- Awareness of cybersecurity principles and the ability to develop and deploy AI solutions with secure coding practices data protection and access controls in mind.
