Occasional weekends and holidays required
Must be flexible to float across multiple laboratory collection sites
Position Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Patient Service Technician (Phlebotomist) to support laboratory operations through accurate specimen collection processing and handling in alignment with clinical safety and regulatory standards. This role requires strong patient interaction skills attention to detail and the ability to work across multiple collection sites while ensuring high-quality patient-centered service.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture finger sticks and heel sticks on ambulatory and bedridden patients
Collect and process specimens including blood throat swabs stool samples and 24-hour urine collections
Centrifuge and prepare serum/plasma specimens while maintaining proper handling and temperature standards
Accurately enter patient demographics and physician orders into Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
Ensure proper specimen labeling integrity and documentation for testing and billing accuracy
Communicate effectively with patients providers and clinical staff regarding specimen requirements and procedures
Address specimen issues and escalate concerns to supervisory staff as needed
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations medical necessity guidelines and laboratory policies
Support multiple lab sites and perform opening/closing procedures as required
Assist with inventory management supply stocking and maintaining clean work areas
Perform occasional STAT and off-site draws (home visits nursing facilities physician offices)
Participate in on-call rotation as assigned
Deliver consistent patient-focused customer service
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Completion of a phlebotomy training program or relevant hands-on experience
Valid U.S. Drivers License (required upon hire)
Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Successful completion of Medical Terminology assessment
Strong communication skills (written and verbal in English)
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and keyboarding
Understanding of HIPAA and laboratory compliance standards
Preferred Qualifications
Phlebotomy certification preferred
Prior experience in multi-site laboratory or clinical collection settings
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Certifications & Compliance Requirements

Medical Terminology competency (required)
Driver Safety Training (required upon hire and renewed every 2 years)
