Intervention Coordinator (1st 3rd Grade)

Job Summary
The 1st - 3rd Grade Intervention Coordinator leads the development implementation and continuous improvement of the elementary ELA & Math intervention system. This role ensures that students requiring additional academic support receive high-quality ELA & Math interventions aligned to district curriculum assessments and instructional priorities.
The 1st-3rd Grade Intervention Coordinator partners with school leadership teams ELA & Math teachers and the Curriculum & Instruction department to ensure strong intervention systems that include strategic student placement consistent progress monitoring and effective instructional supports.
This role also supports district ELA & Math improvement efforts by helping teams analyze intervention data and measure the effectiveness of intervention strategies.
Heres what youll do:
ELA & Math Intervention System Leadership
- Lead and strengthen the districts elementary ELA & Math intervention system to ensure students receive targeted effective academic support.
- Support the design and implementation of ELA & Math intervention courses for elementary.
- Ensure intervention instruction strengthens foundational ELA & Math skills while accelerating students toward grade-level proficiency.
- Support teachers delivering intervention courses through coaching consultation and instructional support.
- Step in to facilitate or run an intervention course when needed to ensure continuity of student support.
- Ensure strong alignment between Tier 1 instruction and intervention courses through systematic scope and sequences assessments feedback and other supports
Student Placement & Progress Monitoring
- Support school leadership teams in ensuring students are appropriately placed in ELA & Math interventions and monitored for academic growth.
- Collaborate with school leadership teams to review student data and determine intervention placement.
- Develop and support systems for ongoing progress monitoring of students in intervention courses.
- Analyze student performance data to identify trends and recommend instructional adjustments.
- Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of intervention strategies across schools.
- Attend school site MTSS meetings to provide input support and guidance on student placement decisions including special education
- Hold Intervention Review Meetings with intervention teachers leaders or other support personnel to ensure high-quality instruction student updates and supports needed and placement decisions are vetted
Curriculum & Instructional Support
Provide training and support on the ELA & Math intervention curriculum used in elementary.
- Ensure intervention instruction aligns with district ELA & Math standards and instructional priorities.
- Support teachers in using student work and assessment data to guide intervention instruction.
School Leadership Coaching & Alignment
- Partner with School-Based Leadership Teams (SBLT) to strengthen the implementation and alignment of ELA & Math interventions.
- Conduct district alignment walks with SBLT teams to monitor instructional alignment and intervention implementation.
- Provide coaching consultation for school leaders regarding ELA & Math intervention systems and student support.
- Facilitate task force discussions focused on strengthening ELA & Math intervention practices.
Continuous Improvement & Data Cycles
- Support ELA-focused PDSA cycles that measure the effectiveness of intervention strategies.
- Track and analyze intervention data to monitor progress toward ELA & Math improvement goals.
- Provide insights and recommendations to leadership teams based on student performance data.
Summer and After-School Intervention Planning
- Support the development and planning of summer and/or after-school ELA & Math intervention programming.
- Assist in identifying and placing students who would benefit from summer intervention.
- Monitor fidelity of interventions and progress monitoring to determine the effectiveness of interventions and additional student supports or placement changes.
- Determine curriculum needs purchasing training and development
- Assist in ensuring student participation is maintained through parent outreach and events
Qualifications :
- 2 years minimum of instructional leadership experience coaching supporting and supervising ELA & Math teachers.
- Graduate of a recognized college or university with a masters level or higher degree
- California Teaching Credential required.
- 3 years of minimum ELA & Math teaching experience with strong results
- Proficiency in the TNTP Rubric and coaching Model for Data Driven Instruction Weekly Data Meetings Observation and Feedback and Leading adult PD
- Holds a high bar for instruction and can identify actions that will improve teacher practice
- The ability to use data including student work to identify next steps for student academic success
- An eagerness to receive and implement feedback
- Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm.
Pay Range: $82340.59 - $122176.33. Final compensation will depend on skills & experience.
