Job Summary

*This position requires 2 shifts a week from 10a-7p.* Preferably Bilingual but not required.

The Patient Services Representative is responsible for enhancing the patients overall experience during their visit. The Representative will work directly with patients to assist with the admission and check-in process review insurance eligibility and financial responsibilities and schedule appointments. The Representative will be responsible for collecting any patient co-pays or outstanding balances. The Representative will also need to complete other tasks that contribute to the day-to-day functions of the
office.

Hours of operation are 5am-1pm.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Below are theprimary duties and essential functions of an employee in this position. These essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Greetingeducating andinstructingpatients through admission and check-inprocess.
  • Verify patient information and check-in for scheduled appointments.
  • Notifypatientsof insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.
  • Answer telephone and direct calls appropriately.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Manage clinical schedules andassistclinical staff as needed.
  • Monitor account balances payment plans andcollectionreports.
  • Crosstrainwith county patient services staff and help cover county offices whenrequested.
  • Performcash handling responsibilities and daily reconciliation of cashdrawer.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occupational Exposure Risk Classification: Thenormal work routine involvesminimalexposure to blood bodyfluidsor tissues.
  • The normal work routine has aminimalergonomic risk for repetitive motion impairment.
  • The position may require aminimalamount of physical exertion (bending lifting twisting) in the work area.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:High School Diploma or GEDrequired.
  • Experience:Minimum of one (1)yearexperience in an office setting; Experience in Healthcare Customer Service preferred.
  • Certificate or Professional License:No Certificates or Professional Licenserequired.
  • Valid drivers license and activeautoinsurancecoverage.
  • Satisfactory results from criminaland driving record background checks.
