Job Summary

Step into the heart of plant operations

As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic youll be the first call when production equipment needs sharp troubleshooting and decisive action. Your day starts by surveying critical utilitiesgenerator air compressor cooling tower and chillerconfirming smooth operation or performing a safe start-up as needed. When issues arise you dig in: interpreting schematics isolating faults and restoring machines to peak performance all while keeping safety front and center.

What youll do

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues across manufacturing equipment restoring uptime through precise adjustments and repairs.
  • Install maintain and repair plant machinery facility systems and services; manage basic storage and inventory of spare parts.
  • Read and apply electrical/mechanical schematics blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Disassemble rebuild and function-test machinery to verify reliability.
  • Execute normal and emergency plant start-up/shutdown procedures for generator air compressor cooling tower and chiller.
  • Replace faulty electrical components such as switches and sockets.
  • Perform rigging and lifting tasks safely and effectively.
  • Apply intermediate machine shop skills when fabricating or refining parts.
  • Work to established safety practices including lock-out/tag-out at all times.
  • Tackle facility projects as neededcarpentry plumbing and painting among them.
  • Support plant electricians on tasks requiring additional hands.
  • Communicate shift findings and equipment status to the Plant Engineer and/or Shift Supervisor.
  • Keep work areas orderly and clean to 5S standards.
  • Be ready to support all areas of forming production as business needs shift.
  • Handle additional duties aligned with plant objectives.

What you bring

  • 5 years of related maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and proven skill diagnosing and repairing electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Basic computer literacy for documentation parts lookups and reporting.
  • Strong practical problem-solving approach.

Physical and environmental demands

  • Regular standing and walking; frequent use of hands and fingers for tools and controls.
  • Frequent talking and hearing to coordinate with crew members.
  • Climbing stooping bending and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Occasional pushing/pulling kneeling and crouching.
  • Regularly lift/move up to 20 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Close vision and color differentiation required.
  • Noise levels consistently above 85 dB; work near moving mechanical parts and lift trucks.
  • Exposure at times to dust from paper converting processes.
  • Occasional fumes/vapors or hazardous products (e.g. degreasers silicone sprays).
  • Ambient temperature and humidity may rise during summer months.
