Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Travel/Local Assignment
Location: Carmel IN (Floating to nearby facilities in Fishers & Avon IN)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 40 Hours per Week

Shift Details:

• Alternating Shifts Required
  • Mid Shift: 2:00 PM 10:30 PM
  • Night Shift: 11:00 PM 7:30 AM
• Second shift required more frequently
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Position Overview

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a 13-week assignment. This role requires a strong generalist background including blood bank experience and the ability to work independently across multiple laboratory locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing in Hematology Chemistry Blood Bank Urinalysis and related diagnostic areas
• Accurately analyze and interpret test results
• Perform blood bank procedures including crossmatching and transfusion support
• Ensure proper specimen collection labeling processing and storage
• Maintain calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
• Adhere to safety infection control and quality assurance protocols
• Document and report results accurately in the electronic medical record system
• Work independently at satellite locations after training
• Float between multiple facilities as needed
• Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare teams
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience required
• ASCP Certification required (MLS MLT or MT)
• Strong generalist experience including Blood Bank
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with pediatric and adolescent populations preferred
• Flexibility to work alternating shifts (mid and night)
• Willingness to float between multiple locations
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Experience with EMR systems (e.g. Cerner) preferred
