The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is seeking a motivated driven and collaborative individual to join our Maintenance team as a full-timeMaintenance Technician.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt; Bargaining Unit Position; Full-time
Compensation:$21.22 per hourplus a comprehensive benefit package which includes medical dental vision life and LTD insurance FSA HRA 403(b) retirement plan with Roth option complimentary membership and guest passes paid holidays personal business time sick leave and vacation.
Summary
Performs maintenance tasks as part of the Maintenance department in support of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Maintains repairs and installs physical plant systems including but not limited to electrical plumbing HVAC exhibits and paths on grounds by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.
- Performs plumbing electrical carpentry fabrication welding fabrication.
- Installs system material and components in accordance with blue prints manuals building codes and ASDM operating standards.
- Performs general painting on buildings inside and out.
- Maintenance repair and installation of plumbing systems though out the Museum.
- Maintenance repair and installation of telephone and data cabling systems.
- Maintenance repair and installation of ASDM Filter Building pumps and water systems.
- Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on all ASDM refrigerators freezers and other equipment.
- Assists other departments as required.

Education and/or Experience
Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Journeyman electrical skills are required.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully an individual should have the ability to be trained to perform basic data entry for timekeeping and e-mail purposes.
Certificates Licenses Registrations
Valid Arizona drivers license and a satisfactory driving record.
