Commercial Litigation Attorney- Partner Level

A well-established mid-Atlantic law firm is seeking a senior commercial litigation attorney at the Counsel or Junior Partner level to join its Northern Virginia or Maryland offices. This is a confidential search conducted on behalf of the firm.

This is a lead-litigator role designed for an experienced attorney seeking meaningful responsibility and autonomy. The successful candidate will take over and run commercial litigation matters delegated by senior partners serve as day-to-day lead counsel on cases and supervise junior attorneys as needed. Senior partners remain available for high-level strategy but this role requires someone comfortable fully owning files from inception through resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Serve as day-to-day lead counsel taking direction from senior partners on high-level strategy only
• Take and defend depositions argue motions and handle trial work on a regular basis
• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys as needed

Requirements

• Approximately 1020 years of commercial litigation experience
• Demonstrated ability to run cases independently with substantial first-chair experience
• Active Virginia bar admission required; DC and/or Maryland admission a plus
• A small portable book of business (approximately $200K)
