A well-established mid-Atlantic law firm is seeking a senior commercial litigation attorney at the Counsel or Junior Partner level to join its Northern Virginia or Maryland offices. This is a confidential search conducted on behalf of the firm.
This is a lead-litigator role designed for an experienced attorney seeking meaningful responsibility and autonomy. The successful candidate will take over and run commercial litigation matters delegated by senior partners serve as day-to-day lead counsel on cases and supervise junior attorneys as needed. Senior partners remain available for high-level strategy but this role requires someone comfortable fully owning files from inception through resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Serve as day-to-day lead counsel taking direction from senior partners on high-level strategy only
- Take and defend depositions argue motions and handle trial work on a regular basis
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys as needed
Requirements
- Approximately 1020 years of commercial litigation experience
- Demonstrated ability to run cases independently with substantial first-chair experience
- Active Virginia bar admission required; DC and/or Maryland admission a plus
- A small portable book of business (approximately $200K)
