Binding Production Underwriter
Job Summary
Seeking motivated and entrepreneurial professionals to join a team as Binding Production Underwriters specializing in either Commercial Lines or Personal Lines. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and expand a book of business by underwriting new accounts and fostering strong client relationships to drive renewal business.
Compensation Package
- Competitive salary range: $100000 - $200000 annually
- Performance-based bonus opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Build maintain and grow a profitable book of business.
- Develop and manage strong relationships with agency partners serving as the primary client contact.
- Create and implement strategic marketing plans to drive new and renewal business.
- Evaluate rate quote and bind risks to determine acceptability coverage and pricing for both new and renewal accounts including large or complex risks.
- Submit underwriting referrals to company brokerage facilities and management as needed.
- Monitor key performance metrics including new business hit rates renewal retention premium growth and loss ratios and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Lead mentor and develop Assistant and Associate Underwriters to build a high-performing team.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial lines underwriting or brokerage experience; excess & surplus experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing strategies.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
- Insurance license CPCU CIC or comparable designations are preferred.
