Job Responsibilities
Assesses the clinical status of the peripheral and central auditory and vestibular systems of neonate pediatric adult and geriatric patients to initiate a treatment process | ||
Provides surgeon with immediate feedback on cranial nerve function to assist in avoiding permanent neurofuncional deficits by using neurophysiologic intraoperative monitoring | ||
Utilizes professional knowledge and communication skills counsels patient/family regarding results of the assessment and strategies to facilitate patients recovery from or adjustment to a communication disorder | ||
Employs screening procedures identifies at-risk populations and intervenes to minimize the impact on communication/development/ability | ||
Utilizes professional expertise; confers with physicians other professionals and/or referral agencies to provide results for assessment and to recommend appropriate treatment/intervention | ||
Employs appropriate aural rehabilitation procedures improves communication abilities of an individual with hearing loss to maximize the patients interaction skills | ||
Utilizes the basis of pharmacology to determine how medications may effect the patients symptoms and results of test procedures | ||
Provides knowledge of business skills and governmental regulations for third party reimbursement as related to audiological services and procedures | ||
Employs leadership qualities that support and mentor the department and community | ||
Understands the role of imaging techniques in the evaluation of audiovestibular pathologies | ||
Completes assigned goals | ||
Performs other duties as assigned |
