- Day Shift: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
- 8-hour shifts 40 hours per week
- Monday Friday
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to support clinical operations in a fast-paced outpatient dental setting. This role involves assisting dentists during examinations and procedures ensuring a sterile environment and delivering high-quality patient care. Candidates with prior oral surgery assisting experience are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures
- Prepare and position patients; adjust chairs and equipment as needed
- Set up and organize dental instruments materials and supplies
- Provide chairside assistance including instrument transfer and suctioning
- Assist during oral surgery procedures such as extractions
- Retract patients mouth and maintain a clear operative field
- Support patient comfort throughout procedures
- Perform dental X-rays and assist with imaging as required
- Clean sterilize and prepare instruments following infection control standards
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Mix dental materials including amalgam as needed
- Ensure clinic cleanliness organization and safety compliance
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program
- Minimum of 1 year of Dental Assistant experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification Required
- Prior experience assisting in oral surgery procedures
- Strong knowledge of dental instruments and chairside assisting techniques
- Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to perform moderate physical activity (standing bending lifting)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a high-volume dental or surgical setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with dental imaging and X-ray procedures
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Certifications & Compliance
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Dental Assistant Program Certification (Required)
- Knowledge of infection control and sterilization standards
