Job Summary

Description

Performs diagnostic medical procedures producing diagnostic medical radiographs. Reports to the charge radiographers.



Responsibilities

Performs radiographic examinations using C-arms portable and stationary radiographic imaging equipment. Develops film including evaluating film for technical quality. Transports patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains room. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures objectives quality assurance program safety environmental and infection control standards. Checks equipment supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Maintains x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions. Maintains clean and orderly work areas. Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs current literature Inservice meetings and workshops. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department such as evaluation results individualized treatment plans progress reports etc. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Supports the hospitals Christian mission philosophy values and goals. Participates in and supports established Performance Improvement Program. Attends JCAHO required and hospital mandatory Inservice programs. Observes hospital dress code and maintains appropriate conduct and appearance. Maintains confidentiality of all information regarding patients families physicians and hospital personnel.



Qualifications

Experience:
None

Education:
Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technologist Program

Special Skills:
Must demonstrate ability to recognize patients individual needs based on medical conditions age limitations and planned procedures.

Licensure:
American Registry Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) & Medical Radiation Technician (MRT) License Issued by the Mississippi
BLS Certification

New Graduates:
New graduates may be hired with a temporary Medical Radiation Technician (MRT) License Issued by the Mississippi and must obtain American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification within six (6) months of hire or before expiration of the temporary license whichever comes first
