Drama Teaching Role in a Creative Arts Department
A secondary school in Ipswich is seeking to appoint a Drama Teacher to join its Creative Arts department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that values performing arts as part of a balanced curriculum.

About the Role
You will teach Drama across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 delivering lessons that focus on performance script work improvisation and theatre techniques. Students will develop confidence communication skills and creative expression through practical activities.
You will support students preparing for GCSE Drama helping them develop both performance and written coursework components.
Depending on experience there may be opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 teaching.
The role may include involvement in school productions rehearsals and extracurricular drama activities.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Drama lessons across KS3 and KS4
Teach performance skills script analysis and theatre techniques
Support students preparing for GCSE Drama
Organise and support rehearsals and school productions
Assess student work and provide structured feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to departmental planning and activities
Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons

Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Confidence leading practical activities and performances
Strong classroom management skills
Good organisational and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching GCSE or A-Level Drama
Experience directing school productions
Ability to contribute to extracurricular activities
