Role Overview:

The client is seeking a Senior Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Specialist to support service transformation initiatives by leading and conducting Privacy Impact Assessments for new and evolving technologies systems programs and policies. The role ensures compliance with applicable privacy legislation OPS directives and internationally accepted privacy principles while embedding privacy by design throughout business and IT initiatives.

Must Have Requirements:
  • Strong experience with privacy legislation including FIPPA PHIPA and PIPEDA
  • Proven experience leading and conducting Privacy Impact Assessments involving personal and personal health information
  • Experience conducting PIAs for online digital cloud based and integrated solutions
  • Experience assessing third party or vendor provided solutions involving personal information
  • Strong experience analyzing data flows and business process diagrams
  • Demonstrated ability to identify privacy risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including executive level reporting
Nice to Have:
  • OPS or broader public sector experience
  • Experience delivering privacy training or guidance
  • Experience with digital identity frameworks
  • Professional certification in privacy IT security or architecture
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and conduct Privacy Impact Assessments in accordance with OPS standards and processes
  • Interpret and apply privacy legislation directives and Fair Information Practices
  • Analyze data flows system architectures and business processes to identify privacy risks
  • Develop and document privacy risks impact analyses and mitigation strategies
  • Embed privacy by design into business architecture and IT system planning
  • Develop and communicate privacy policies procedures and assessment documentation
  • Collaborate with legal IT security business and program stakeholders
  • Provide guidance on emerging privacy issues and best practices
  • Support approval sign off and compliance activities for PIAs
