Registered Nurse (RN) Critical Care Float Pool (ER / ICU Experience Required) Contract Position
Job Type: Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour shifts (Evenings and Nights) Schedule: Approximately 72 80 hours per 2 weeks (varied scheduling)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly adaptable Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) with strong Emergency Room (ER) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) backgrounds. The RN will provide high-acuity patient care across multiple acute care settings including ER ICU and PACU while also supporting other nursing units as needed.
This role requires flexibility strong clinical judgment and the ability to function effectively in fast-paced high-acuity environments.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct care to patients in ER ICU and PACU settings
Float to other nursing units to assist with patient care needs (non-primary assignments)
Assist with patient monitoring telemetry and continuous observation
Support rapid response and code blue teams as needed
Assist with patient transport and interdepartmental coordination
Help expedite patient flow across multiple hospital units
Deliver safe evidence-based and patient-centered care
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be current and in good standing)
Minimum of 2 years recent experience in both ER and ICU settings (required)
Strong ability to work in high-acuity fast-paced environments
Flexibility to float across multiple units
Ability to work rotating evening and night shifts
Certifications (Required)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Additional Information
Experience with Epic Systems (EPIC) is preferred
