The Communications team at the Arnhold Institute for Global Health andDepartment of Global Health and Health System Design at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai promotes the work of the Institute as a whole and its programs and partnerships individually through online and print materials media relations social media digital communications including website marketing email and events.
The Arnhold Institute israpidly growing with expanding programmatic work and external engagement that requiresignificantly increased communications capacity including an expanded scope of work inGuyana.
The Digital Communications Manageris a key member of the Communications team supporting the Institutes mission to improve access to high-quality health care for all by helping elevate visibility tell compelling stories of impact and strengthen engagement with internal and external audiences. The individual is an organized project manager and energetic self-starter with strong digital skills a collaborative working style and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
The position is hybrid and the Digital Communications Manager must live in the New York City area to support in-person events and work onsite in the office. The role reports to the Associate Director of Communications.
Responsibilities
Serve as a project manager for communications initiatives supporting shared team workflows such as editorial calendars project tracking tools and social media management platforms (e.g. Sprout Social).
Help develop and implement procedures to improve efficiency across the Communications Department including requests for Communications resources and the annual planning process.
Support the development and execution of communications plans in partnership with the Communications team helping operationalize timelines deliverables and content needs across multiple priorities.
Coordinate logistics and follow-through across communications projects ensuring deadlines are teams are coordinated and informed.
Develop and publish content for the Arnhold Institutes social media channels in collaboration with the Communications team ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
Create and adapt visual assets graphics infographics templates and other content for social media digital and print use using tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud and maintaining brand consistency across materials working in collaboration with the Communications team.
Implement maintain and optimize social media tool and workflows (e.g. Sprout Social) including scheduling promotion plans and analytics reporting in collaboration with the Communications team.
Support event promotion including through digital and print collateral and on-site communications support working closely with the Communications and Operations teams.
In partnership with the Communications team support development and implementation of a social media strategy to expand audience reach and engagement and improve our social media presence applying best-in-class practices.
Refresh existing social media platforms and collaborate with Mount Sinai Central Communications team to develop new Arnhold Institute platforms (e.g. Facebook).
Take photos and short videos at events as needed; edit photos and videos.
Support email marketing initiatives including eBlasts and eNewsletters via Constant Contact including drafting content formatting and design and distribution in coordination with the Communications team.
Create templates and help maintain distribution lists in Constant Contact.
Support the development launch and ongoing management of an external newsletter.
Write and edit clear engaging and accurate content across formatsincluding social media posts newsletters web content annual reports email communications blogs press releases development materials presentations and technical content from staff and faculty.
Edit health academic and technical language so it is clear to a lay audience.
Produce and improve digital and print materials including flyers templates and PowerPoint presentations and support coordination with freelance designers as needed.
Support the refreshed design and publication of Institute-wide materials including the annual report by contributing to content coordination asset preparation and production support.
Organize and maintain in collaboration with the Communications team a shared digital library of photos videos and collateral to improve access and consistency across Communications initiatives.
Update load and manage content across digital platforms in collaboration with the Communications team supporting communications priorities through timely publishing and content maintenance.
Support website updates and modernization efforts including content creation and editing and architecture recommendations in collaboration with the Institutes Communications team and Mount Sinai Central Communications.
Support development of Communications trainings for Institute staff and faculty as well as programs and partnerships to support capacity development.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor to support Communications team priorities and Institute-wide needs.
Qualifications
BA/BS degree in Marketing Digital Marketing or related field or equivalent work experience required.
Seven plus years of demonstrated work experience in -advertising marketing communications or related field
Experience in health care marketing is a plus
Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $79720.00 - $119580.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including experience education and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
