Job Summary
Your role at St John of God Berwick Hospital
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager for Obstetric ward on a fixedterm basis until August 2027.
This role plays a key leadership function within the perioperative team supporting the overall clinical management of the perioperative environment and delivering highquality patientcentred care. The Associate Nurse Unit Manager provides supervision and support to junior staff contributes to safe and effective service delivery and deputises for the Nursing Unit Manager as required.

We welcomed 974 births last year and tracking toward 1000 births this year a vibrant growing maternity service
The Position:
Supervises nursing practice of all nursing caregivers taking responsibility for standard of nursing care delivered.
Initiates reviews and coordinates care of patients with complex health problems.
Serves as a patient advocate protecting the rights and safety of patients at all times.
Actively contributes to the development of clinical policies and procedures in area of specialty.
Responsible and accountable for nominated portfolios as designated by Nurse Manager and actively communicate with Nurse Manager updates.
Participates in and takes responsibility for the education of other caregivers by conducting formal and informal teaching sessions.
Routinely monitors the results of diagnostic procedures and investigations and report abnormalities as required to the required caregiver.
Systematically evaluates and documents the outcomes of nursing/medical interventions and report significant anomalies promptly.
Ensures documentation of planned nursing care and holistic care plan remains current and regularly evaluate documentation of the multidisciplinary team to determine their compliance to hospital policy.
You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse Midwife or Registered Midwife you will have well developed analytical and problem-solving skills with knowledge of acts and legislation that impact on the practice of nursing. As a leader you will demonstrate ability to develop and build effective nursing medical and interdisciplinary relationships and teams.
To succeed you will have delegation planning organisational and motivational skills be committed to on-going education and self-directed learning and effectively communicate and educate patients family and staff.

We will offer you
Salary: $115908 to $119811 per annum (pro rata if part time) plus 12% superannuation.
Fixedterm permanent parttime position working up to 30.4 hours per fortnight until Aug 2027.
