Design Engineer

The opportunity

Downers NZ Energy and Utilities business is looking for a Design Engineer to join our team in Auckland and support the delivery of essential electricity infrastructure.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical design work with estimating and project support. You will play a key role in delivering accurate designs quotations and as built information while working closely with internal teams customers and contractors.

You will be trusted to manage your work end to end and contribute to the continued growth of our in house design and estimation capability.

What we are looking for

We are seeking a motivated and detail focused professional with a practical approach to design and estimating.

You will bring

Experience in engineering design and or estimation ideally within electricity or utilities
Knowledge of distribution networks and engineering design standards
Strong computer literacy and ability to work with design and estimating systems
Strong time management and organisational skills
A collaborative mindset and willingness to support team outcomes
A strong commitment to health safety environmental and sustainability practices
