Position Summary:
Field Trip Volunteers have the opportunity to support student learning and local history by assisting the Education team in providing engaging and organized field trip experiences for visiting school groups. Volunteers help welcome students support hands-on activities and ensure groups move smoothly through their scheduled programs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Welcome and assist school groups upon arrival
- Support staff with hands-on activities and demonstrations
- Help guide groups between program locations and exhibits
- Answer basic visitor questions and help maintain a welcoming environment
- Assist with simple program setup and cleanup
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Successful completion of volunteer orientation
- Interest in history education or museums
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Friendly reliable and comfortable working with children
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to direct school aged children
- Ability to pass a background check
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to walk and stand for portions of the day
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
Work Environment:
- Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions
- Will interact with guests staff and vendors
