About the role:
Join Ipsos as a Finance Assistant within our Commercial Finance team of 31 specialists supporting 18 service lines across the UK. Youll play a central role in maintaining project financial integrity keeping forecasts up to date processing supplier invoices supporting month-end reporting and helping manage cashflow and billing. Youll partner with project leads and Finance Business Partners to deliver timely actionable insights that drive profitable projects while identifying small but impactful process and system improvements to reduce manual effort. This role offers exposure to ERP/accounting systems (e.g. Oracle SAP) strong use of Excel and reporting tools and opportunities to coach non-finance colleagues so they can self-serve basic tasks. Work within a people-first entrepreneurial global business where your attention to detail and curiosity directly influence commercial decisions and client outcomes.
About you:
- Qualified with AAT studying/ looking towards studying for an ACCA/CIMA qualification.
- Strong numeracy accuracy and experience reconciling accounts and checking financial data.
- Proficient with Excel (formulas filters pivot tables) and comfortable using Microsoft 365 tools.
- Experience or demonstrable capability using an ERP/accounting system (Oracle SAP similar).
- Clear written and verbal communicator; able to explain financial information to nonfinance colleagues.
- Good organisational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Exposure to AI and adoption able to apply AI tools to streamline routine tasks automate checks and improve data quality.
Essential skills:
- Strong numeracy and attention to detail; experience reconciling accounts.
- Solid Excel skills (formulas pivot tables) and familiarity with Microsoft 365.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Oracle SAP equivalent).
- Practical understanding of monthend processes project forecasting and budgeting support.
- Knowledge of invoice processing supplier management and approval workflows.
- Clear communication skills to support and train nonfinance colleagues.
- Ability to work to deadlines and uphold internal controls (timesheets project closure approvals).
Desirable skills:
- Exposure to reporting and visualisation tools (Power BI Tableau).
- Experience with scripting/automation (Excel macros Power Query) or process automation.
- Prior experience in projectbased or multiservice line finance environments.
- Proven track record supporting forecasting and budgeting in fastmoving organisations.
- Continuous improvement mindset; identifies ways to simplify processes and improve data quality.
- Resilience flexibility and a client/service orientation.
- Further capability in applied AI (automation data cleansing model assisted forecasting)
