Description

This contract on-site position offers a unique opportunity to provide specialized oncology care while working within a supportive medical practice environment.

As a Locum Medical Oncologist you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients with cancer collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. Your expertise will contribute to our commitment to delivering high-quality care and improving patient experiences in the oncology department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessments and treatment plans for oncology patients
  • Conduct patient consultations and follow-up appointments
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to guide treatment decisions
  • Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately
  • Participate in case reviews and contribute to clinical guidelines
  • Engage in patient education regarding treatment options and resources
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and standards of care

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board certification in Medical Oncology
  • Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge in oncology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Prior experience in a clinical setting is preferred
  • Commitment to providing compassionate patient care

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p

Will take minimal inpatient consult calls during clinic hours

Setting: Outpatient

Patient Volume: 12-16 per day

Duties: Ambulatory management of patients including prescribing home andambulatory chemotherapy biotherapy and immunotherapy

Required Procedures: Ambulatory bone marrow and local anesthetic

Support Staff: 2 additional physicians 1 APP

Must be board-certified
