As a Locum Medical Oncologist you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients with cancer collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive assessments and treatment plans for oncology patients
Conduct patient consultations and follow-up appointments
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
Utilize evidence-based practices to guide treatment decisions
Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately
Participate in case reviews and contribute to clinical guidelines
Engage in patient education regarding treatment options and resources
Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and standards of care
Requirements
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
Board certification in Medical Oncology
Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state
Strong clinical skills and knowledge in oncology
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Prior experience in a clinical setting is preferred
Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p
Will take minimal inpatient consult calls during clinic hours
Setting: Outpatient
Patient Volume: 12-16 per day
Duties: Ambulatory management of patients including prescribing home andambulatory chemotherapy biotherapy and immunotherapy
Required Procedures: Ambulatory bone marrow and local anesthetic
Support Staff: 2 additional physicians 1 APP
Must be board-certified
