This contract on-site position offers a unique opportunity to provide specialized oncology care while working within a supportive medical practice environment.
As a Locum Medical Oncologist you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients with cancer collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. Your expertise will contribute to our commitment to delivering high-quality care and improving patient experiences in the oncology department.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive assessments and treatment plans for oncology patients
- Conduct patient consultations and follow-up appointments
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Utilize evidence-based practices to guide treatment decisions
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately
- Participate in case reviews and contribute to clinical guidelines
- Engage in patient education regarding treatment options and resources
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and standards of care
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board certification in Medical Oncology
- Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge in oncology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Prior experience in a clinical setting is preferred
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p
Will take minimal inpatient consult calls during clinic hours
Setting: Outpatient
Patient Volume: 12-16 per day
Duties: Ambulatory management of patients including prescribing home andambulatory chemotherapy biotherapy and immunotherapy
Required Procedures: Ambulatory bone marrow and local anesthetic
Support Staff: 2 additional physicians 1 APP
Must be board-certified
