Job Type: Travel Contract
Contract Duration: 26 Weeks
Shift: Variable Days (07:00 AM 07:30 PM) or Nights (07:00 PM 07:30 AM)
Schedule: 3648 hours per week (12-hour shifts; 3x12 or 4x12 travelers choice)
Position Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a Long Term Care (LTC) setting in Seward Alaska. This role involves delivering high-quality patient-centered care to residents in a close-knit community-focused environment. The RN will support chronic disease management promote resident well-being and ensure a high standard of care in a low-volume facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to LTC residents (approx. 1:20 nurse-to-patient ratio)
- Assess develop implement and evaluate individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Monitor resident conditions and respond appropriately to changes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
- Support residents with chronic illness management and daily living needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using ECS charting system
- Educate residents and families on health conditions and care plans
- Ensure adherence to facility policies procedures and safety standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Long Term Care (LTC) experience Required
- Previous travel nursing experience Required
- Experience managing higher patient ratios (1:20)
- Strong clinical judgment and time management skills
- Comfortable working in a rural or remote setting
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher Required
Certifications & Licensure
- Active Alaska RN License Required (must be in hand)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Alaska Food Worker Certification Required (can be completed during orientation)
