From lines on a map to lasting impactsurvey with purpose at TAIT.Role at a GlanceTAIT is seeking a Field Surveyor support survey and engineering projects in the field. Working under the direction of a Party Chief or Licensed Land Surveyor youll collect accurate field data assist with boundary and construction staking and help ensure the quality and precision of survey deliverables. This role involves extensive outdoor work across a variety of terrains and weather conditions supporting projects ranging from public infrastructure to private development.Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Visit multiple job sites daily to collect survey measurements and descriptive data
- Operate survey instruments including robotic total stations and data collectors
- Set stakes marks and locate existing survey monuments with accuracy
- Maintain and manage survey equipment in the field and on vehicles
- Enter and manage field data using appropriate software in the field or office
- Prepare survey deliverables including topographic maps ALTA surveys and grade sheets
- Research and interpret record documents such as maps deeds and easements
- Support survey project documentation and data organization
- Communicate effectively with survey and engineering teams
- Conduct site visits safely across varied terrain and conditions
Minimum Qualifications- 2 years of field survey experience using modern survey equipment
- Experience with Carlson data collection software
- Familiarity with subdivision mapping (Tract Maps Parcel Maps Records of Survey)
- Experience supporting boundary analysis and field data processing
- Exposure to ALTA and topographic survey preparation
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D (C3D 2020 preferred)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Minimum Certification and Skills Experience- 2 years of experience in construction staking and land development projects
- Recent field experience in California
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Physical Requirements- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry equipment
- Ability to travel between multiple job sites daily
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions
- Strong situational awareness in active construction environments
- Position will require an annual physical & fitness for duty exam with hearing test.
Salary and BenefitsSalary range for position: $52000/yr - $65000/yrBenefits
