About the Role:
The Infant Teacher provides warm responsive and consistent care for infants during their earliest stages of development. This role focuses on building secure attachments supporting daily routines and encouraging early growth through gentle intentional interactions. You help infants and families feel safe supported and connected.
Key Responsibilities
Infant Care & Daily Routines:
- Provide responsive care including feeding diapering soothing and safe sleep practices
- Maintain predictable routines that support comfort and emotional security
- Ensure a safe clean and developmentally appropriate environment
- Support individualized care plans based on each infants needs
Development & Learning Support:
- Support sensory exploration tummy time and motor skill development
- Encourage early language through talking singing reading and interaction
- Use responsive caregiving to build trust attachment and emotional regulation
- Observe and document developmental milestones and progress
- Provide activities that support early curiosity and exploration
Family Communication:
- Maintain daily communication with families regarding routines and milestones
- Share updates on development behavior and care needs
- Build strong trusting and respectful relationships with parents
- Provide guidance and support when needed
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all Title 22 licensing and safety regulations
- Maintain safe sleep practices and infant supervision standards
- Ensure proper sanitation (diapering bottle prep cleaning hygiene routines)
- Maintain accurate documentation (logs incident reports attendance medication records)
- Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with co-teachers to maintain consistency and classroom flow
- Support classroom organization and daily preparation
- Participate in staff meetings training and professional development
Qualifications:
- 24 ECE units including Infant/Toddler coursework required
- Experience working with infants (018 months) required
- AA or BA in ECE or related field preferred
- California Child Development Teacher Permit preferred
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain
- Strong understanding of infant development health and safety practices
