Responsibilities:

In this role you will workclosely with our mining clientsand technical teamsonprojects that span diverse siteswithunique challengesto developpractical solutionsfor mine watermanagement.



Your work will include:

  • Lead mine watermanagementprojectsfrom conceptual planning through detailed design providingstrategic and practical solutions to our clients.
  • Leadmine water balance models to support site-wide water balance assessments and water management planning.
  • Support thedevelopment of water quality models.
  • Directmine water management infrastructureplanning anddesign focusingon surface water infrastructure such as channelspondsand sizing pumping systems.
  • Oversee the completion ofclimatehydrologic andhydraulic analyses to supportpeak flow floodcontroland erosion mitigation studiesincorporating climate change assessments.
  • Collaboratewith Okanes multidisciplinary teams to support the development and implementation of closure visioningplanningand execution.
  • Provide seniortechnical oversight and serve as a Qualified Professional asrequired.
  • Directordevelopproposals of varying complexity in technicalexpertise.
  • Interact competently with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels ofexpertise.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor orgraduatedegree in Civil Environmental or Water Resources Engineering.
  • Holds a Professional Engineer (.) designationin at least one Canadian province (multi-province registration is an asset).
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience in water management within the mining industry.
  • Experience engaging directly with mining clients and regulators as a senior technical advisor
  • Experience and aptitude for multidisciplinary work and dynamic team environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in hydrology hydraulics water infrastructure design and water balance modelling.
  • Proficiencyusing water modellingsoftwaressuch asGoldSim HEC-HMSHEC-RASand other relevant numerical modelling programs.
  • Experience with overseeing and supervising the construction of water management infrastructure is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for both business and technical writingand clear and effective collaborationwithin project teams.
  • Knowledge of Canadian water regulations codes and environmental standards including relevant professional procedures and practices is an asset.
