Job Summary

The North Liberty Hospital department of Rehabilitation Therapies is seeking a Physical Therapist with a specialization in hand therapy. This candidate will administer treatment to patients with complex physical dysfunctions disorders and/or injuries and evaluate and interpret findings. This position will primarily be assigned to an orthopedic outpatient setting.

  • Provide quality patient care evaluation assessment and treatment appropriate for patient with complex or specialized needs.

  • Participate in the development of innovative clinical teaching activities to meet the learning needs of staff and students.

  • Perform routine and assigned administrative tasks in an efficient manner and demonstrate innovative problem solving approaches.

  • Provide divisional and departmental leadership by:

    • Collaborating on special projects and assisting management as necessary.

    • Participating in clinical research and maintaining a high level of clinical productivity.

    • Providing educational experiences to staff and students

    • Serving as a clinical resource.

    • Demonstrating the ability to set and accomplish divisional/departmental goals.

  • Identify opportunities monitor and participate in quality/process improvement activities and recommend corrective actions for effectiveness.

  • Attend and participate in personal and professional developmental programs.

  • Perform special projects and task as assigned.

Percent of Time:100%

Schedule: This role requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts within clinic hours (7:00 a.m. 8:00 p.m. MondayFriday) which may vary based on staffing needs.

Pay Grade: 08 Highlights:

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy or a Bachelors degree in another field and a Physical Therapy Certificate is required.

  • Reasonable (2 years) experience as a Physical Therapist with a high degree of understanding and skill in one or more areas of assigned responsibility.

  • Demonstrated clinical educational abilities.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a work or other professional setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in Physical Therapy with advanced understanding and skill in providing physical therapy primarily to adults in an outpatient setting.

  • Reasonable (1-3 years) experience in evaluation and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal disorders.

  • Ability to practice in an autonomous manner

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in provision of patient care

  • Demonstrated efficiency in provision of patient care

  • Demonstrated effort to enhance ones own knowledge skills and abilities

  • Demonstrated program/service development or quality improvement projects
