Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): To conduct natural resource management operations of the Natural Lands under guidance from Natural Lands professional staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Remove invasive species * Collect seeds* Work outside for extended periods
* Learn technical natural resource management skills * Remove brush
* Participate in prescribed fire * Apply ecological theory to land management
* Identify plants * Plant and water trees as needed * Maintain trails

* Conduct research methods for long-term ecological management and study

• Extensive training is required at the start of employment which must be completed successfully in order to continue in the position.

Physical and Environmental Factors:

This position requires crouching kneeling/crawling stooping twisting/pivoting climbing/balancing reaching overhead grasping/handling pushing/pulling lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs. driving operating hand tools and operating equipment or machinery to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise chemicals vibrations extreme cold and proximity hazards as well as rare exposure to respiratory factors wet or humid conditions indoors extreme heat and heights or cramped quarters to perform the essential functions. Protective equipment is required for some essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
