Required Qualifications:/
Education and Experience:
The contractemployeeshall be fullylicensed to performradiologicalproceduresby the American Registry of RadiologicTechnologist.Theemployeeshouldalsobelicensed by the state of Virginia.He/Shemusthaveatleast three or moreyears of experience.
contractor employees shall be accompanied by a certified or photo staticcopy of their currentlicense.
The Contractor must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifiedin accordancewiththeAmericanHeartAssociation or American Red Cross. The contractor must possessevidentiarydocumentation of their graduation from anaccredited school of radiology technology.

Shall be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance.
Ability to begin work as soon as possible.
Experience working with inmate populations or in inmate facilities preferred.
Description of Duties:
Theservices to be provided are professional in nature and will be commensuratewithAccreditationAssociationforAmbulatoryHeathCarestandards of care. Themethodsutilizedwillmeetmedicalpracticesestablished in the localcommunity.Theseservicesalthoughnot
directlysupervisedwill be reviewedperiodically by a physician or staff member at the institution.Theperformance of theseserviceswillbemonitored by the COR.TheClinicalDirectorand/orBureauof Prisons(BOP)Physician(s)willretainprofessionalresponsibilityfor all patientsreferred to radiology.
Thecontractorshallprovide the followingRadiologyTechnicianservices whichinclude but are not limitedto the itemslistedbelow.Therefore the contractorshall be capable of performing any and allradiologyproceduresneededwithout any technical support. Thecurrentradiologicalequipment provided attheinstitution is a PickerRadView 50 machinewith a KodakDirectView ClassicCR reader. Knowledge of this oldertechnology and equipment is required.
Perform routine radiologicprocedures ordered by the medical staff for the inmatepopulationat the institution.
TransmitretrieveX-rayimages and reportselectronicallyand scan reportsintoinmatesBureauElectronicMedicalRecord(BEMR).
Receivetraining to retrieveradiographicconsultsfromBEMR and schedule them to perform all radiographic procedures.
Workwith an inmatepopulationfrom a variety of culturalracialreligious and ethnicbackgrounds.
Possessknowledge of basic emergencysituationsthatmay occur during specialradiographic procedures.
Scheduleexams and maintainrecords.
Possessknowledge of various pathologicalabnormalitiesas demonstrated by radiographic imaging.
Independentlyassessandselecttechnical exposurefactorsandpositionsnecessary to obtain a properqualitydiagnosticexam.Receivepatientsand explain procedures to alleviateundueanxiety.
Independentlyperform all radiographicprocedures;i.e.chest bone skull spine and portablex-rays etc.
NotifyRadiologistorreferringPhysician of any preliminaryabnormalities seen whilepatient is undergoing an exam so that additional views or exams can be ordered if needed.
Coordinate transfer of patientradiologicrecords to ensure continuity of care.
WorkwithClinicalDirector to ensuremonitoring and evaluationactivities are completed.
Act as liaisonbetweenradiologistandmedicalstaff.
Receivetraining and orientation and complywithcorrectionaltechniques as they pertain to medicalservices.
Develop a workingknowledge of the local medicalprotocols.
