Yee Hong is one of the foremost providers of culturally appropriate senior care in the country delivering high-quality resident experience and care to Chinese and other Asian seniors since 1994. The organization operates 805 long-term care beds and 308 seniors apartment units with an additional 224 long-term care beds opening in a new home by June 2026. In addition Yee Hong offers four campuses of managed care a hospice residence and a wide range of community-based senior and caregiver support services. Through this comprehensive network the organization serves more than 15000 individuals annually across the Greater Toronto Area.
Program Aide - Casual
Under the direction of the Program Manager/ Program Coordinator plans or participates in the planning of appropriate activities and providing high quality services to clients of the Day Program.
Responsibilities:
Implements and ensures smooth operation of the activities in a safe hygienic and supportive environment
Provides high quality personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene
Provides meal services or assists in meal preparation and assists the clients in eating in accordance with the clients wish and ability
Assists the client in participating in social activities and encourages social interaction
Assists the team to prepare program materials
Responds promptly to medical emergencies and takes appropriate action
Assists the clients in the proper use and care of adaptive devices
Delivers portions and serves meals according to diet order and client preference
Complies with health and safety policies to minimize the risk to clients coworkers and self
Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario or equivalent
Completion of a C.P.R.
Good interpersonal skills
Satisfactory Police Reference Check (with vulnerable sector screen) result
Good oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese
Physical Demands/ Working Condition:
