Overview:
Responsible for providing assistance and guidance to individuals and their families experiencing medical and/or psychosocial crisis precipitated by their illness or subsequent developments. Provides a variety of services that may include but are not limited to disposition services information and referral services financial counseling services protective services individual group family and marital/couples therapy for patients in an outpatient setting and their families. Coordinates therapy needs for assigned patients/clients.

• Education: Masters degree in social work counseling marriage and family therapy or psychology.
• Licensure: Licensed clinical social worker (LSCW) licensed professional counselor (LPC) licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) or licensed psychologist.
• Experience: Previous psychiatric experience.
• Certifications: Must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Card or complete a course within their probation period.
• Skills Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of a variety of therapy interventions including brief therapy and psychiatric disorders; skilled in therapeutic communication and conflict management; able to defuse potentially violent situations possess superior interaction and critical thinking skills and sound judgment.
