Overview:

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for 3 South- Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit. This is a Full Time Night shift position in Williamsburg VA.

Sign on Bonus up to $20000 available for qualified candidates!

Hours: 645PM to 715AM with rotating weekend schedule.

The Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit 3 South at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center provides care for patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure cardiac rhythm disturbances newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators post- coronary interventions post-ablation myocardial infarctions. 3 South also cares for pre/post catheterization and acute stroke. This 24-bed unit sees a ratio of 1:6 with assistance of Patient Care Techs with a ratio of 1:8 on average. The unit cares for patients with acuity higher than a typical medical-surgical unit. 3 South Acute Cardiac is also preparing for a transition to a Cardiac PCU step-down with ratio of 1:4 before years end making it an exciting opportunity for nurses seeking growth in a dynamic high-acuity setting. Registered Nurse Transition to Practice Programs at Sentara:

Unique 6-Month Program Includes:

  • No separate application required automatic enrollment for any RN with less than 12 months experience or transitioning to a new practice area.

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment diagnosis outcomes identification planning implementation coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics culturally congruent practice communication collaboration leadership education evidence- based practice /nursing research quality evaluation resource utilization and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Education

  • Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program

  • BSN or MSN preferred.

  • Students in process of completing an accredited nursing program.

Certification/Licensure

  • Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License

  • BLS within 90 days of hire.

  • Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire

  • NIH within 1 year of hire

Experience

  • Acute care nursing experience preferred

  • Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred

  • None Required
