Job Summary

Your role at St John of God Berwick Hospital

We are seeking an experienced Registered Midwife with demonstrated expertise in fetal surveillance. The successful applicant will be a Level 3 practitioner with RANZCOG (Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists) Fetal Surveillance Education Program (FSEP) accreditation.

This role offers working hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm on Monday Wednesday and Friday.

Join our dynamic obstetricianled Maternity Unit delivering highquality womancentred care in a supportive and collaborative environment. We currently have full-time fixed-term opportunities available for a 12-month period with contracts running until June 2027.

About our Maternity Unit

  • Modern 6bed Birthing Suite designed for safe calm and personalised birthing experiences

  • 6cot Level 3 Special Care Nursery (SCN) providing specialised care for unwell or premature babies

  • 22bed antenatal/postnatal ward plus onsite CTG service antenatal clinics and lactation support

  • K2 Guardian Fetal Monitoring System for continuous realtime fetal surveillance and enhanced clinical decision-making

  • We welcomed 974 births last year and tracking toward 1000 births this year a vibrant growing maternity service

The Position

  • Assesses plans delivers and evaluates patient care seeking support from senior staff as required.

  • Promotes and contributes to effective communication facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the ward and within the hospital.

  • Provides patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate.

  • Supports and supervises staff and students as required including orientating and preceptoring staff.

  • Contributes to the achievement of Hospital and Clinical Services operational objectives.

You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse Midwife a demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction along with well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.

To succeed you will have the ability to work effectively and harmoniously within a multidisciplinary healthcare team with a strong commitment to ongoing education and professional development and a minimum of five years experience as a Midwife.

We will offer you

  • Salary: $81995 to $103482 per annum (pro rata for part-time) plus 12% superannuation

  • Part-time fixed-term opportunities available for a 12-month period until June 2027.
