Job Summary
Summary
Performs diagnostic tests of cardiovascular systems of patients to aid the provider in diagnosis and treatment of heart disorders.
Education
Some additional training beyond high school in the area of basic arrhythmia. Less than an Associates Degree.
Certification Registration & Licensure
Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification. Medical Technician - NH Board of Registration of Medical Technicians
Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) required within 2 years and maintained thereafter.
Experience
Related clinical experience minimum 6 to 12 months is required. Some Cardiac monitoring experience is required.
Responsibilities
Assists providers with performing stress exams.
Performs electrocardiogram (ECG)and manages ECG data.
Prepares and educates patients for procedure and expectations.
Administers medications.
Performs application and scanning of Holter and ZioPatch exams.
Manages time and workload fluctuations.
Observes and communicates to provider any changes in signs and symptoms.
Documents and maintains patient and test data.
Completes billing for tests performed.
Utilizes and maintains departmental and hospital equipment.
Completes departmental and hospital requirements.
Involves self in departmental team and committee goals.
Takes ownership and responsibility for individual performance goals.
Performs other duties as assigned.
